Photographs can be lost due to catastrophic events, improper care and environmental damage. They can become faded, scratched or torn. Even stored photos may deteriorate over time. Restoring, preserving and digitizing old photographs can save them for future generations to enjoy.
Photographs capture our memories, as well as our histories. Old photographs are often passed from generation to generation, creating an informal family history.
Because of the importance of photographs to memory and history, restoring photographs has become important for many. However, although restoring photographs was once a tedious task, advances in photo technology and digital media make preserving photos a much easier process (Photography.com).
For the upcoming new year make it one of your resoultions to
organize your old photos and digitize them. Take your mothers or fathers photos and digitize them and make copies for all the children and grandchildren. No more fighting over photo memories when a loved one passes you can douplicate them.
For as low as 19 cents a picture I can make them on to a CD for you with a professional Kodak scanner.
Dont put it off any more. Even if you don't or can't inlist my help do it. Make the time, the money is minimal (100 photos is less than 20$). You won't be disapointed!

This Years Parties and events
This upcoming year I have a few personal events that I have already started to plan. In addition to my clients parties and events I've got four of my own. My Daughter turns 3 in March and I'm planning a pink and black princess party. Ive got a few ideas on my desert and food tables, and I am envisioning mounds of tulle and tissue. I always like to make my kids parties adult friendly as well so I'm thinking pink martinis for the adults and strawberry juice with black licorice straws for the kids.
My Husband is Graduating from Gonzaga University with his Masters in Teaching. I want to do an APPLE party with lots of red apples as decor. Not sure exactly how I'm going to do this one but I'm thinking apple pie, Carmel/candied apples etc. I would love to find an apple fabric to do a congratulations banner but the hunt is still on.
My brother in law is getting married on 11-12-11. His fiancee and him have decided on a peacock theme and I am IN LOVE with the color scheme! I have not been asked to help with the decor but I'm looking forward to throwing them a bridal shower! Blues, Greens, Feathers, FUN!!
And of course next years Christmas season i have already started to plan for. This year my table was gold and red and next year i am planning on getting 2 trees. One for all the ornaments we have collected through out the years, and one for my silver wonder land. Silver ornaments with tinsel and a really big red bow on top. My table scape next year will be all about silver and snow! I like to plan one year ahead because it gives me time to keep an eye out for great ideas and killer deals. This time of year (December) all of the Christmas decorations go on EXTREME sale so i like to stock up for years to come at a fraction of the price! If you can plan ahead and get an idea of the events you will be doing throughout the year you can not only save a bundle but get lots of great ideas you never would have come across if you are under a deadline!
Happy Hunting!

Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays to all my Blogger friends. I hope all your holidays were as great as ours was. Santa was quite good to all of us this year. We are so thankful for all those friends and family we were able to spend the season with. To me that's what holidays are about, friends and family.
As another year passes and we begin to look forward to 2011 I am reminded of what a great year 2010 was. Moving to a new city and being able to branch out on my own and Couture Events came to be. I went from a Dreamer to a Doer.
2011 will prove to be better and more inspiring than 2010. I am not only growing Couture Events and Designs but I have recently joined forces with Heritage Makers in an efforts to support and grow my business, but also to bring my passion of pictures and the joy they bring to others. I believe pictures are what we have. Memories are subject to memory but pictures, if preserved properly, can live on once our memory has failed us. If we take the steps now to preserve what we have the generations to come can have a sense of who their ancestors are and where they came from. In turn understanding where one comes from lends a hand to knowing who you are.
I am looking forward to this adventure and hopefully you will follow along with me.

Open House
I forgot to post some pictures of an Open House I worked on in late November. It was a success and the food was so yummy. It was a lot of fun and I never knew we could cram that many people in to an office. Well done.
Christmas and Family
With Christmas coming in only 4 days i am FINALLY posting. Life has been full of family, friends and getting ready for all the celebrations. Decorating this year has taken a bit of a back seat due to time contraints. But I will always have time for a great holiday table. Tune in for final pictures but these are some of the Ideas im using.
I got this great Idea from Hostess Blog. No matter the time crunch im sure almost everyone has time for something like this. Grab your spray paint and some branches, a holiday sock and some ornaments. DONE! Ill post some Pictures tomorow (if i get it done)
